Hi all!

I’m in my second year of the DTCM program. I was first drawn to Traditional Chinese Medicine and its meridian system after studying with an energy healing practitioner for a few months and I love that TCM can address all the physical, emotional and spiritual aspects of our being. TCM has taught me a new way to view the world, our bodies and our health through a holistic and cyclical lens.

I’m from the Colorado mountains and when I’m not studying you can catch me soaking up all the beautiful nature the island has to offer whether I’m surfing, mountain biking, hiking or skiing.

I’d be honored to be a part of your healing journey!

Sydney is 3 years into the Phytotherapy Diploma program at Pacific Rim College. Her main interest is in:

  • Supporting mental health through a thorough treatment plan consisting of diet, herbal formulas, lifestyle changes, and spirituality.
  • Supporting individuals as they wean off their anti-depressants and anxiety medications– again with a proper long-term treatment plan.
  • Working with chronic health issues and uncovering the root cause while also supporting the acute symptoms along the way.
  • Using astrology as a tool to help patients understand what is going on deeper in their psyche that could be contributing to their chronic health issues. (An astrology chart reading could be requested upon after a couple of medical intake sessions to gain more clarity).

Her personality is soft and open, while remaining strong and persistent in caring for her patients. A gentle approach that it suited to each individual and their healing needs. Sydney emphasizes that in most cases it will not be a “quick fix” to get to the root of chronic health issues, and she will lay out a long term treatment plan that will help patients get to their goal in a step by step basis.

Registered Acupuncturist RAc., BA, Shamanic Practitioner, Holistic Doula and Mama.

Growing up in the wilds of Alberta near my grandparents and extended family from the earliest age I was exposed to the importance of being raised by a village of humans, animals, trees and plants. I remember being in awe and fascination of the magic of life and nature all around and always trying to see how it all fit together.

This lead me to explore the philosophies, sciences and arts of explaining life. From travelling the physical world to the spiritual, studying plant wisdom, to western pathophysiology, experiencing life being born and life leaving this world I have woven together a magical approach to supporting people in healing and remembering who they truly are and how connected they are to all that is.

Michelle was drawn to plant medicine from an early age growing up in the woodland forest of Northern Illinois where she cultivated an innate sense of the deeply healing power hidden in plants. Raised in a family that understood food as our primary medicine, this understanding carried into plants as healing modalities.

Michelle began learning about herbal medicine through her own exploration as a teenager. After completing a BA in religious studies, Michelle attended her first formal herbal training through the Chicago College of Healing Arts with Herbalist and Acupuncturist Althea Northage-Orr. This program infused TCM theory, Nutrition and Western Herbalism into an interdisciplinary practice. From there, Michelle expanded her studies into Yoga Therapeutics, Ayurveda and Andean wisdom practices. Wanting to combined her past 20 years of study in helping people one-on-one, she enrolled into the Phytotherapy program at PRC to gain the skills, knowledge and experience to safely and effectively work with others in a clinical practice. She is currently completing the last of her clinical practicums.

For Michelle, plant medicine has always had a deep connection with spirit and believes plants can assist healing on that level within our bodies. This ultimately is the essence of holistic healing and is strongly considered in Michelle’s approach in working with her clients. In clinical practice, Michelle strives to meet people where they are at, honours their place in their own personal journey and strives to find therapeutic approaches that meet their goals. Her resourcefulness and attention to detail aims to provide symptomatic relief while addressing underlying causes.

Michelle has a keen interest in autoimmune conditions, mental health, women’s health and working with children. Michelle has a personal interest in the traditional healing methods of different cultures around the world and is excited in finding the meeting point where tradition meets modern day science. Her BA in Psychology, Sociology, and Politics is blended into her approach to health and wellness. Connecting people to the wisdom of their own bodies, to plants (as food, medicine, and friends), and to the land - always with the vision of mutual liberation for all. Éimear’s approach is also informed by the knowledge that herbalism and magic have a long history of being used by the common people against their oppressors for healing and empowerment and with awareness to the historical and ongoing colonial policies that impact food, land and cultures

Other professional passions include food justice, energetic medicine, sexual health, reproductive justice, queer and trans healthcare, trauma informed care, and a deep love for integrating the spiritual.

Eimear’s personal passions include art, magic, sea swimming, reading, floristry, crafting, poetry, music, hiking, cooking, yoga, dancing, horses, and generally being a playful weirdo.
